A listing for a potential new Nintendo Switch model has appeared at a French retailer. According to the listing, the new Nintendo Switch will be priced at ⬠399 (around Rs. 35,527). The list is expected to go live on June 4, according to the French publication Centro, caught by Video games chronicle.
Rumors of a Nintendo Switch Pro have been circulating for over a year, and the rumors are getting stronger this year. Nintendo, however, has remained largely silent on the matter. If the list is correct, we expect to see an announcement ahead of the kickoff of E3 2021, which is slated to take place between June 12 and 15.
Unfortunately, no real details about the new Switch model have been revealed or leaked, but rumors indicate that it will be a significant upgrade from the original Switch. The new Switch is rumored to be able to use Nvidia’s DLSS technology to play games in 4K quality when docked. DLSS is exclusive to Nvidia chips, and the original Switch is already running on Nvidia hardware, so this partnership between Nintendo and Nvidia is likely to continue.
Nintendo Switch Pro in India
Unfortunately, given Nvidia’s lack of interest in India, we’re unlikely to get an official console release. It will always be possible to obtain it through parallel imports or gray markets; the same means by which the original switch became very popular in the country.
Retail sources told IGN India that, despite price hikes and supply issues, the Switch exceeded sales of the PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S in India in 2020, with around 100,000 units sold by March 2021.
